Shopper Marketing Trends Report 2009
Said to be the worst economy since the Great Depression, it's no surprise that this year's annual Trends Survey shows more CPG marketers, especially the smaller ones, scaling back on shopper marketing efforts compared to recent years.
Some 23% of respondents (all CPGs) said they reduced their shopper marketing budgets during the past year. This is the highest number in the 15 years of this survey and heavily contrasts with the 8% of respondents claiming reduced budgets in 2008 and 2007 and 9% in 2006.
